A 3500m2 commercial development along Karamu Road, Hastings, consisted of two separate sections developed by TW Property. The first lot of 2000m2 land was developed into a purpose-built branch for client, JA Russell.
The construction was led by TW Construction and involved all TW sub-trades. The development features a large warehouse space with an open front office, additional office breakout rooms, bathrooms, and a mezzanine floor for extra storage.
Due to the building’s location and restricted space for the concrete precast panels, temporary concrete propping blocks were used, these were required to be in place until the main structural steel was installed. The Aspirespan insulated roof and wall panels required special techniques to instal due to the absence of timber framing, and spans of the sheets, the design allowed for a thermally insulated building exceeding requirements enhancing temperature control and noise reduction for the retail space.
To enhance street appeal, additional pavement repairs were made, with TW Civil & Infrastructure and TW Traffic Management overseeing this part of the project.
